Create folders to organize
Create a folder (storage prefix) to keep tables tidy within a connection.
A folder is a prefix in your object storage - a place to group tables and
files within a storage connection. Use it to keep a
bucket tidy (master-data/, archive/, staging/) without changing a table's
logical schema.
Create
eddytor create folder <config-id> master-data/productsThe path is relative to the storage connection's root.
create_folder(config_id="…", path="master-data/products")Folder vs schema
Don't confuse the two:
- Folder - physical layout in the bucket (this page). Affects where objects live.
- Schema - logical namespace in the FQN (
eddytor.sales.orders). Affects how the table is addressed.
Schema and storage path are independent - a clean schema name doesn't require a
matching folder, and vice versa. A table's location when you
create it can sit inside
a folder you've made.
